Samsung warns customers not to discuss personal information in front of smart TVs

According to the latest research on Samsung Smart TV has found that commands user’s voice is recorded, stored and transmitted to a third party. Therefore, this is why Samsung warns all customers not discuss personal or sensitive within earshot TV device information. Well, this new controversy over Samsung TV is probably caused by the discovery of a single disturbing state in the privacy policy of the company, which states:

“Please note that if your spoken words include personal or confidential information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party”.

This company has confirmed that its smart TV are listening to customers’ every work. So, Samsung is warning all customers not to mention personal information, while about television sets. Samsung has also revealed that the voice activation function on their smart TVs capture all nearby conversations. Your TV can collect and share information, including confidential data as well – with Samsung and third party services. Well, this news came when Shane Harris at the Daily Beast discovered the disturbing line in the privacy policy Samsung:

This company has now provided a new statement, saying how the function works by voice activation :. “If the consumer consents and uses voice recognition feature, voice data is provided to a third party during a search voice command requested.”

Samsung officials also mentioned that the voice data is sent to a server, which seeks the requested content then returns the desired content to the Smart TV. Therefore, this means that the company does not retain or sell voice data, but did not name the third party that translates the user’s speech.
