Just last week I got my test AM cortisol and discovered that I have very high cortisol. I’m experiencing symptoms such as rapid heart rate and inability to do any work, are horrible …… .so, I have been researching desperately what I can do to lower high cortisol. I thought this post I want to share what I found, what I’m trying, and things that are helping me right now, hoping that I can help someone or could share ideas and find out what works best.
Having high cortisol is a common problem that many people have and some do not even know that cortisol is the reason for their health problems. Fatigue, difficulty sleeping, and unintentional weight gain or loss are just some of the symptoms. However, it has problems with cortisol can also be much more serious. What is cortisol?
Cortisol is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands, which is essential for almost every process in the body and also for maintenance of homeostasis . When the body is under stress, it goes into fight-or-flight response, which activates cells that trigger and increased adrenaline and cortisol. Cortisol increases in response to stress, but after a while you can not keep up with the extra effort and begins to decrease as the body can not keep up with demand.
Usually, higher cortisol levels observed in the early stages of adrenal fatigue and subsequent stages of adrenal fatigue, lower levels drop as the adrenal glands become more depleted.
Or you could have a variation of both, which has very little cortisol at certain times of the day and at other times as much cortisol levels change dramatically during the course of the day. You want to do a blood test AM cortisol that is performed on an empty stomach, preferably 20 minutes after awakening because that’s when peaks of cortisol to its highest level. How these methods to lower cortisol are working for me
I have noticed a great improvement from the addition of sea salt all my meals in just 2 days. I felt like I had much more energy from it. Foot baths magnesium flakes have also been helping a lot! I feel an immediate difference after doing time.
