Urine can come in many different colors, but usually is between dark amber or honey shade a clear straw color with a goldish number of shades in between. If you look at the urine from time to time you may notice that even your own urine can be different sometimes. This is your body is telling you something, just read the signs because the color of urine can tell a lot about your health. This is what the color of your urine:

    No color. Transparent

If your urine is almost transparent means that you are drinking too much water and you may want to cut back on water intake. Yes, there can be no such thing as too much water!

This color means that you are healthy, normal and well hydrated, so you have nothing to worry about.

Again, this means that all is well with you, nothing to worry about.

  1. Goldenrod

This is normal, but you may want to drink more water.

  1. amber or honey

If your urine is amber or honey color that your body needs more water, you may be dehydrated. Increase your daily water intake.

  1. Syrup or stouts

This urine color can indicate liver disease or severe dehydration. Drinking more water and if the problem persists consult your doctor.

  1. pink or reddish hue

This color can be a consequence of a recent meal, which included beets, blueberry or rhubarb. But if you have not eaten anything like that then you might have blood in the urine. It might be nothing or it could be something serious, such as kidney disease, tumors, urinary tract infections, prostate problems or something else. It may even be lead or mercury poisoning, so you should consult your doctor.

If your urine is orange maybe you’re not drinking enough water. If that is the problem just drink more water and problem solved. It could also be the result of a food coloring, so again nothing serious. But if it is persistent, even when you start to drink more water can be a disease of the liver or bile duct, so you should consult your doctor.

  1. blue or green

If your urine turns green or blue could be the result of a rare genetic disorder or a bacterial infection in the urinary tract. It could also be the result of a food coloring or some medications so you need to control the situation. If it lasts more than a few days you need to see your doctor.
