I love that looks lovely for vacation as much as the next girl, but I’m not willing to sacrifice my health for beauty. So what’s a girl to do?
One of my favorite ways to jazz up my eyes during the holidays is a professional manicure! I was so excited when I found first toxin-free nail polish. I love using safer, non-toxic to typical nail enamels that are bought at the pharmacy, alternative and there are many brands to choose from. Did you know that most traditional nail enamels contain formaldehyde? Knowing that everything we put in our bodies is absorbed directly into the bloodstream, I do not feel comfortable using a nail polish that is loaded with chemicals. Some of my favorites are natural marks Zoya, Poofy Organics and Piggy Paint (for the kiddos).
I’m also a big fan of using argan oil for my skin! Actually I use it all over your face in the coldest months, as they tend to have dry skin in the winter. Really it moisturizes without leaving me feeling fat. I always used to get dry spots on my face in the past, what has not happened since I started using argan oil.
Our family is big on natural toothpaste. You have to be very careful as many “all natural” brands still contain ingredients that are anything but natural. Some favorites in our family are thieves toothpaste by Young Living, Poofy Organics Earthpaste and toothpaste. My daughter especially loves toothpaste effeminate boy. It is a great choice, organic that can be swallowed by children safely. It works great for my daughter and I love that I know does not contain chemicals or additives unpleasant.
I’m also a big fan of natural deodorants. The traditional aluminum pharmacy deodorants been linked to cancer and Alzheimer. Instead of choice for a deodorant, I choose a more natural product that helps eliminate odors without aluminum without completely blocking the pores. Two if my favorites are Primal Pit Paste and Poofy Organics. If you are not a big sweater, rubbing a slice of lemon in the armpits it is also a great way to eliminate odors naturally.
It is important to remember that we can look good, feel good and be healthy at the same time. Remember to read labels, educate yourself and make your health a priority.
